Pressure washing Technique
This will help to explain the technique we use
to pressure wash buildings (both residentially and commercially) - I
have used many techniques in the time I have been pressure washing, but the one we now use is what we have found to work best for us, and is the most economical for our customers.
We use NO MORE pressure than absolutely necessary. Our machines have adequate water flow in terms of gpm (see
"Equipment"), and we let water, and the
cleaning chemicals we use, do the work, instead of using higher pressures that can damage your building if used directly on certain sidings, or if forced into places (vents, eaves, cracks, soffits) where water should not be aimed directly at.
We NEVER use ladders. Anything we need to wash, we can get from the
ground. We can spray water 3+ stories high, the hardest areas
to get are the highest parts of a chimney, and areas where there is not a
direct "line of sight" between the pressure washing tip, and the object being
washed. We can even get cobwebs and insect nests (except maybe the
"stem") on the highest parts of your house. We DO NOT disturb or destroy birds nests, as that is considered to be illegal in many cases.
We rinse shrubbery, landscaping, and windows thoroughly, but we might not be able to clean or thoroughly rinse windows where there is a screen, as we don't want to stretch the screen with
too much pressure while trying to clean it. When we are done, you will also need
to watch for water gathered under doorways, and in windowsills.
PLEASE watch your pets for up to several hours after we have pressure washed
your home. The chlorine in our chemicals, and the ammonia in animal
urine can make pets sick when they "sniff and pee".
We DON'T drag our heavy equipment around your lawn. We leave it on the
truck, connect a water line from your house to the equipment, and we have
several hundred feet of pressure line that we run from our truck to your
building. All we carry is the line and guns, and buckets of cleaner
that we draw from where we are actually working on your building.
We will try to THOROUGHLY clean your building, but we will LEAVE something
on the building rather than risk damage to the siding or building while trying to clean it off. There may be other services who will clean off more than we might
(in SOME cases, but NOT MANY) but they will charge a LOT more to do so.
If we can even get 80-90% of what they can get clean (we usually can get MUCH MORE than
THAT) for 70-75% of what they charge, that is a better deal for you.
The building will begin getting dirty soon after we leave, at our prices you
can even call us more often, but is it REALLY worth the extra money to pay someone
else 25%-50% more than you pay us to clean 10-15% (if even THAT?) more than we can clean???
